Smooth, big-bodied and characterised by choc-caramel and nougat flavours and aromas, this blend started life as the Karmee Classic. But at the request of one of our biggest Sydney clients, we substituted the funky Ethiopian for a really well-processed, washed Indian Robusta. That seven percent has made all the difference. City Blend is now one of our biggest sellers and, as the name suggests, the bulk of it is consumed in the CBD. The blend seems stronger simply because the high vegetable oil content of the Robusta beefs up the body of the coffee in the cup. As an espresso, it's a plum in your mouth.
Where the Classic is a smooth, straight-line caramel blend, the intense cocoa flavour of the Robusta has turned our City Blend into a borderline mocha blend. At the same time, it's rounded off any acids that may otherwise appear in a straight espresso.
